Angela’s main focus though is with middle age and older and those with chronic pain and/or limitations.
The purpose of the Aging Is Not 4 Sissies Yoga class is to encourage everyone that they can participate in Yoga regardless of their age or limitations. The class offers the opportunity for seated and/or standing Viniyoga adapted for your own personal abilities. (No Mat/floor work is involved.) Class focus is on functional daily stretches and alignment to help alleviate chronic pain, improve range of motion & strength and improve balance both physically and more mindfully. Yoga poses and meditation are used to help achieve this balance.
She has over 24 years of experience working with senior adults. A University of Georgia Alumnus with a Bachelor of Science in Education with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation.
She holds a Certificate in Gerontology from Kennesaw State University in 2005, and has multiple certifications in senior strength training, chair exercise, personal training, Yoga, “Ageless Grace”, brain fitness, Balance & Mobility, and Silver Sneakers. She also has extensive experience within physical rehabilitation hospitals with head injury, stroke, and orthopedic and neurological patients.
